The world’s most active ocean impact investor

/ About
Katapult Ocean is a global impact venture fund backing high-growth companies transforming ocean industries and ocean-linked systems.
We’re driven by the urgent need to address critical challenges facing our oceans and the opportunity to build a sustainable ocean economy through solving them.
With teams in Oslo, Singapore, and Cape Town, we’re close to the challenges, markets, and innovators driving the transformation to a regenerative blue economy.
/ Why ocean?

Oceans of opportunity

The blue economy is a multi-trillion-dollar opportunity spanning ports, power, protein, data, and everything in between. Structural pressure on ocean systems is creating new demand for technology that promotes efficiency, mitigates risk, and drives more sustainable business models. We invest at this intersection of necessity and opportunity.

/ How we operate

We invest first, then companies join our award-winning program.

Our hands-on model gives us proprietary access to the best ocean startups globally, and gives us an advantage for de-risking the investments as they integrate with our extensive network of industry partners and operators.

Portfolio companies work directly with the Katapult Ocean team across themes such as impact, financial readiness, and market readiness. Those that demonstrate traction are positioned for follow-on investment.
/ Global from day one
Born in Oslo, Katapult Ocean has invested globally since day one. Today, we operate from hubs in Oslo, Singapore, and Cape Town, fostering compound impact by working closely with founders on the frontlines of ocean challenges.
Katapult Ocean Asia
Together with OCTAVE Capital, manages the $75 million Asia Ocean Fund from Singapore. The fund addresses a critical funding gap in Asia’s fast-growing blue economy, de-risking early-stage ventures and helping founders scale solutions essential to global ocean and climate goals.

Katapult Ocean Africa
Supported by NORAD and in collaboration with OceanHub Africa, we are building an early-stage ocean startup pipeline across the continent. Promising ventures are evaluated for direct investment, while earlier-stage teams join OceanHub Africa's accelerator to mature.

/ Investemen criteria

We’re economists, investors, entrepreneurs, and scientists backing ambitious founders who are looking to change the world. The work we take on is high-stakes, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Our values

Our vision

A thriving ocean in harmony with economic development — where protecting marine ecosystems and building profitable businesses aren't competing priorities, but the same goal.

Our mision

To accelerate the transition to an ocean economy that strengthens the systems it depends on by building profitable, scalable solutions at the intersection of industrial innovation and ocean health.

Our beliefs

The ocean can thrive in harmony with economic development. The best companies prove it — creating lasting value by putting people and planet first. We believe capital, technology, and talent should flow toward the ocean economy's biggest systemic challenges, and that the strongest returns come from the companies solving them, enhancing customer value, and navigating regulation and risk with clarity.
